Well, folks. It was fun while it lasted.

As you can see, not much has been happening on this blog lately.

There are several reasons for this, but I will only hit on a couple:

First: It's amazing how much can change in a couple of months--both in our personal lives and on the writing front. A couple of us have signed publishing contracts, and so the need to write, edit, market, promote HAD to take preference over this blog and the services we were providing.

Second: Running this blog, critiquing submissions, providing feedback...well, that's a LOT of dang work. We weren't getting paid for this service. We had a concept and we went with it--for free--not realizing how much time it would involve with very little (nothing) in return for our effort.

Third: Probably the biggest factor that made us come to this decision, was the fact that a good portion of the submissions we received just weren't ready. They needed more revision. We were wanting to give out reviews on AMAZING, fully complete, well edited novels. 90% of what we received didn't come close.

So we've shut it down. We've moved on.

Rules/Guidelines:

If you would only like your opening paragraph reviewed, publicly on the site, submit only that portion of your manuscript with your name and genre. We will not publish your name. This will be handled with pure privacy. You can use the information you gather to tweak your novel's beginning.  readyaimhookme@gmail.com
(Paste into the body of your email)

OR

If you would like for us to review your work s a whole, in hopes of a review, please submit your first five pages of your manuscript to: readyaimhookme@gmail.com
(Paste into the body of your email)

Please include the following:
-Name
-Title
-Short description (think back of book blurb)
-Genre
-Would you be willing to allow us to post your opening paragraph (without the use of you name) for public feedback from not only us, but from readers as well? This would be a great opportunity to gather more feedback on the beginning of your story, to know if it starts in the right place and is enough to draw a reader in. Yes or No. Be sure to let us know.
-And let us know whether you're published or unpublished

If your first five pages hook at least two of us, we will send an email requesting additional information. If you can keep at least two of us hooked to the end of your book, then you will get our stamp of approval, 2 out of 3 Hook'ers Love My Book! and we will either give you our review to post on your blog or website, OR if you're published, we will give you a glowing (but fair) review on Amazon or Smashwords (or any other media you may be using). If you happen to hook all three of us, then lucky you! All three of us will leave individual reviews for your book and you will receive the coveted 3 out of 3 Hook'ers Love My Book! stamp of approval.

--No nonfiction (unless memoir)
--No poetry (we wouldn't know how to review it)
--No horror (we like scary, but keep it to PG13. We're squeamish)
--No erotica (we like sexy, but keep it PG13. We're squeamish)
--Manuscripts MUST be complete.
--No more than 100,000 words
--We will only review one title per author per year (unless you ask really, really nice).

Because of time constraints and because of the amount of submissions we receive, we can not guarantee you a certain time in which your work will be reviewed.

We will NOT leave negative comments or feedback about any book on this blog or in any other public format. That is not our purpose.  We are here to build authors up, not tear them down. Only the best of the best will we give public reviews. Everyone will receive some type of feedback, through email, to do as they wish.

--Your work is your work. We will not steal your ideas. Feel secure in knowing that. Any files submitted to us, after it is reviewed, will be destroyed.
--By submitting your work to us, you agree to the above terms and conditions.

We seem to be having some technical difficulties with commenting. Hopefully, it is just an issue with blogger and it'll be easier in the future. Sorry for the trouble.
